SpaceX is scheduled to attempt a third test flight of its Starship rocket on Thursday. The company has a two-hour window for launch from its Starbase facility near Boca Chica, Texas. The weather is “70% favorable” for launch, with liftoff targeted for 9:25 a.m. ET. SpaceX previously flew the Starship rocket on two tests, resulting in explosive failures. The Federal Aviation Administration has cleared SpaceX for the third launch attempt. If successful, Starship would reach space, circle the Earth, and splash down in the Indian Ocean. The fully reusable rocket is crucial to NASA’s plan to return astronauts to the moon. Musk expects to spend about $2 billion on Starship development in 2023.
